Airly Launches All You Can Fly Concept
January 9th, 2016
Frequent travellers between Sydney and Melbourne face several frustrations: traffic to and from the airport, long security queues, traversing a congested airport, regular ground delays, boarding, and disembarking delays. These inefficiencies can turn what should be a one-hour flight into more than four hours.
Enter Airly, co-founded by Luke Hampshire, Alexander Robinson and Ivan Vysotskiy, Australia’s first membership-based all-you-can-fly airline.
Airly’s core value proposition is to save members two hours of lost time by improving the efficiency of the air travel experience, over a standard commercial Melbourne to Sydney return flight. By operating out of smaller, less congested airports, such as Essendon and Bankstown, and operating 8-seat executive aircraft, the inefficiencies of mass air travel are vastly improved. Additionally, Airly’s member network consists of the likes of CEOs, entrepreneurs, managers, decision-makers and creatives, that not only value the gained time that they would ordinarily lose via commercial commuter aircraft, but see the benefits of networking with like-minded individuals. With bespoke concierge services and a premium travel experience, Airly members enjoy a level of personalised service commensurate with their frequent travel expectations.
For a $1000 joining fee and from $2550 monthly, Airly members enjoy unlimited flights between Sydney (Bankstown Airport), Melbourne (Essendon Airport) and Canberra on Beechcraft King Air 350s. Airly offers an initial 54 flights a week between those centres, with plans to expand to Adelaide and Brisbane, Tasmania and other destinations at a later date. There are no hidden costs: baggage, parking, concierge services are all included in Airly’s membership. Corporate memberships are also available, where firms may wish to reward or offer employees expedited travel, or when executives wish to save productive time.
Airly, based out of an entrepreneurial co-working space, Inspire9, in Richmond, Victoria, is innovative in its business model; combining airline, technology and booking service to positively disrupt and complement the aviation industry. Having been inspired by, and learned from Californian-based pioneers Surf Air, Airly manage the leased aircraft, and provide the end-to-end booking, concierge services and member management. By focusing on the member experience, Airly ensures availability, premium service and time management of members, while complying with the strict requirements of operating Regular Public Transport air travel from a regulatory, safety and security perspective.
Airly delivers time savings to members, allowing them to be more productive, spend more time with their loved ones, and more time doing what they enjoy; in a network-based membership club; and, with bespoke services in line with frequent travellers’ expectations.
